the bird and the word

We had some special dinner guests last night, so special cookies were in order. This is the Southern Seminary shield, the shield logo appears on just about anything relating to the seminary. I'm sure there is a lot of symbolism in the design of the shield, but it is frequently simply refereed to as "the bird and the word." I was pleased with how these turned out, especially with the edible gold paint. I anticipate painting a lot with gold paint in the near future - gold mashed potatoes, gold pork chops, gold rolls, gold saltine crackers, etc.
