This "issue" got me thinking about the other un-fun things we need to replace...oh geez this list is a bit too long for my taste.

The Cuisinart pot in the first photo is what we currently have, and my folks actually have it as well. It has been a champ, making tasty brew for a solid 4 years. The Cuisinart pot on the bottom is similar, but it includes a coffee grinder. Meaning one less appliance would take up valuable real estate in my "petite" kitchen.
My sister treated us to our current rice steamer/cooker (not the one pictured above). I love the heck out of that little thing. It makes exactly the amount of rice you need for shrimp-stir fry for two. But it is sad, its lid broke about 4 moves back and it boils over every time I use it. It still makes tasty rice but I fear it is headed down the path of my beloved coffee pot. This Cuisinart rice steamer (above) comes with a lid - already a winner for me. It also has a timer and a larger capacity - just think, shrimp-stir fry for 4, how fun.
I have no idea where our vacuum cleaner came from. Our Bissell just sort of appeared in my life. It works - kinda. In its defence it hasn't been treated overly well. I've witnessed 3-year-old Peter use his parent's Oreck vacuum and I've used the Griffin's Oreck - they seem nice, but goodness, why so pricey? I'll chat with Peter about the pros and cons of Oreck's. He'll know. Do you think Drew would like a new vacuum cleaner for his 30th birthday?
Additional un-fun items include an iron and ironing board, bath towels, dish towels and the list goes on and on and on.
Oh geez, did I just create my Christmas list?
