The LPQ coffee was hot and had unlimited refills, very welcome on this 19° morning.
The Flatiron Building was just a few blocks from the church.
After church we had lunch with a group of about 12 {combo of church staff and members} at Schnippers, a relatively new Flatiron district restaurant that offers "Southern" inspired fare. The had great burgers and homestyle mac&cheese - and much to our surprise - fountain Dr. Pepper. From there Drew and I headed to Ground Zero hoping to checkout the 9/11 memorial. Without tickets, we were unable to see much but there has been tremendous progress on Freedom Tower. We're hoping to get tickets for later this week.
From Ground Zero we looped through Battery Park and Wall Street. The New York Stock Exchange {pictured below} sits across the street from the Federal Building that George Washington {statue below} took his oath of office for the United States presidency.
After dinner at Cafe Frida {amazing Mexican restaurant} we headed to Redeemer Presbyterian to hear legendary & veteran NYC church planter Dr. Tim Keller preach. Keller delivered a message on biblical marriage - we all were thrilled to hear such a strong word.
Food consumed: steel cut oatmeal with berries at LPQ, hamburger with sweet potato fries at Schnippers, chicken floutas at Cafe Frida and an orange from a street vendor.
